celebrity bloggers tip: Balenciaga copy cats

I guess you can file this one under really, really bad - Baker's shoes, which has always been comparable to a cheaper Nine West has really outdone themselves this time. I guess this is a whole rebranding thing, because of competition or whatever. For some reason, one celeb blog had to comment about how this celeb blog found Balenciaga knock offs! And the weird thing is that they're right!


Upon further inspection, you can see how outrageously expensive Baker's has become!! And this is a low end mall shoe store. Then again, even Forever 21 used to be much, much more inexpensive. The funny thing is that I thought these Balenciaga shoes were supposed to be samples, that they never really went into production. I wish I could like the fake one, but it looks so strange.


The boot (in tan, because the other colors are awful) doesn't look that bad. I'm sure with some socks it could look pretty good. Except these shoes are almost a whole year behind in seasons.


Maybe they think that by creating these in multi colors (a la Steve Madden), no one will notice or care. I have a feeling though that the discussion of these will soon be hitting the fashion blogs. Some will contemplate getting them, some will confess an undying hate for them. But know that somewhere, a Mr. Ghesquiere is possibly sitting quite repulsed.
