All Aboard
Which is an understatement in this case, I think I went overboard with the nautical theme. All I needed was a captains hat probably. I blame (and I mean blame in the nicests of ways) it on my boyfriend who said we should go overboard, for fun, so I did. It looks cute, but I don't think I'd typically wear something this themed for everyday. Just on the water!

There may not be an ocean near Las Vegas, our only hope is this lake.

The evolution of a shoe
Let's begin with the Gucci spring summer 08 shoe
observe

from Style.com
then Elle reported these
by Report Signature nonetheless
Then I saw these babies at the mall
Brought to you by Bakers
are we going to see a new wave of knockoff shoes? Much like these Prada knockoffs show here
and if you're like me, I dont know if you should be happy or disgusted

Bright and sunny, business casual day
I think I take way too much leeway with the term business casual. This has never meant suit jacket, or suit anything, matching separates, collared, cuffed, solid, to me. Ick. And for the most part I've had jobs where this type of dress is required (teaching, library) but luckily, the ones where I worked never pushed the stiff attire. So on days where I do choose to sort of dress up, I usually end up looking something like this.
Maybe if some of you would want to send in their work clothes pictures, I could feature a few of you!

Chanel Ankle fanny impostor
I was walking through the mall, minding my own business, when a little teensy thing caught my eye. I saw a shoe in the window. Not a particularly attractive shoe that I would want to buy. But there was something about it, something I couldn't just pass by. I kept walking. I never shop there. But then I had to find out about it. So I made my way back. And yes my eyes didn't deceive me, but there on this Bebe shoe, was a little ankle bag with the strappy sandals.
Here is a picture from the website since in my confusion, I forgot to take my own picture of evidence.
I walked around the whole store looking for it. I don't think I've stepped in a Bebe in like 8 years. Couldn't find the baggie anywhere. So I asked the sales guy. He said he would go get me the shoe. I told him I didn't want the shoe. I wanted the bag/ankle thing. He said they came together. Still wanted to bring me the shoe. I said it wasn't necessary. And was on my way. Stopping by the window one last time.
Maybe I should have tried them on. I wonder if both shoes have a bag. Or maybe just one interchangeable one. This is just one step closer to everyone's Chanel dreams!
Originals.

Oh yes, those latex looking leggings again!
Just when you're browsing through your closets, looking for something to wear that really adds that kick to your outfit - you remember "Hey! That's right, I have these pants that look like rubber" and then you can't wait to wear them.
I always forget I have these.

Don't think I've exactly worn them specifically as pants like this before. Lindsay Lohan would be proud (speaking of which, LL as the new face of Fornarina wtf?). And maybe I don't necessarily have the body to be wearing leggings as pants. But oh well really.
My blazer/jacket thing was given to me because of a theater costume construction class I had taken my last year in college. One day the professor set out some racks of clothes in front of us and told us to take whatever we wanted. This was one of the things I nabbed.
Edit: just to clear up the thing from those coming from the Coutorture link. My leggings aren't really latex, that would involve some serious work. They're just stretchy with some shiny stuff, much like the ones from American Apparel. Also, I like to think that I figured out how to wear to wear these things when I got them over a year ago.

Finally the dress
A while back I posted about wearing a dress specifically with patterned tights because of the Prada inspiration. So I waited and waited and waited to wear this dress only to wear it with the tights and then never finding them at all (yet). I decided finally to just wear it. That there was no more point in waiting. Wore it out to go to downtown (another night downtown, sigh...)

So I substituted these funky leg warmers a friend had brought back from Japan for me at least...four or five years ago. Glad to know I get to wear them some times at least.
I was a pastel dream. Cant wait now to get some patterned tights and see what really comes of it.
(note, this was pre haircut)

Legs: Summer's a comin'
I'm going to be borrowing pictures for this from here
It's not even that hot yet, but everyone can't wait to wear their shorts (I included). It's only a precursor to the 110+ summer that is awaiting us here in Las Vegas.
A picture of two great friends and I, showing off our legs of course

I didn't realize I was slouching so much, in effort to not be so much taller than the other girls. Talk about awkward pose!
I can go through these outfits
Me-
Top: Alternative Apparel V neck $7 from Buffalo Exchange
Vest: The Limited thrift $3
Shorts: cutoffs I made from old Levi's
Shoes: Prada SS07 heels
M. in the red-
Play suit: Marimekko for H&M
Shoes: Miss Sixty
J.-
Sweater: pretty sure it's from American Apparel
Shorts: American Apparel
Shoes: Chloe flats
My hair was super curly and crunchy this day...I kind of liked that. I also was wearing super dark lips. The darkest color I have, so I don't wear it much.
But I'm glad I've found the confidence to wear short shorts even though I'm not stick thin. Maybe others don't like it, but oh well. I'm tired of sacrificing comfort for others.
